My real estate career began in Calgary in 1980, following business school, at a time when the city’s inner-city residential landscape was beginning a remarkable transformation.
Over the past four decades, I have had the opportunity to witness and participate in the evolution of Calgary’s urban housing market—from the early redevelopment of inner-city neighbourhoods to the emergence of today’s vibrant high-rise condominium communities.
During the 1980s and 1990s, much of my work involved infill homes, townhouses, and residential redevelopment. Working alongside developers during this period provided valuable insight into the changing character of Calgary’s established neighbourhoods.
In 2000, I began concentrating my real estate practice on the Beltline and Downtown condominium markets.
My early focus included Calgary’s distinctive historical loft conversions, including Lewis Lofts, Manhattan Lofts, Hudson Lofts, and Imperial Lofts.
As Calgary’s skyline evolved, so did my specialization.
The remarkable growth of high-rise condominium development throughout the Beltline, Downtown West End, Eau Claire, East Village, and surrounding communities created an opportunity to develop an increasingly specialized understanding of individual buildings, their characteristics, amenities, and market positioning.
Today, these high-rise condominium communities remain the primary focus of my real estate practice.
I believe that successful real estate representation begins with understanding more than the property itself.
It requires an appreciation of the building, its location, its history, the surrounding neighbourhood, and the lifestyle it offers.
Every building has its own character. Every condominium has its own advantages. And every buyer and seller has individual priorities.
My approach is built around combining detailed local market knowledge with personal attention, thoughtful advice, and professional presentation.
After more than four decades in Calgary real estate, I remain as interested as ever in the continuing evolution of our inner-city communities.
Calgary’s Downtown and Beltline neighbourhoods have changed enormously since I began my career, and their transformation continues to create new opportunities for urban living.
